Well Beyond Medicine: The Nemours Children's Health Podcast was launched as part of the health system’s deep commitment to the health of every child in the U.S. The podcast, part of a multi-faceted strategy to further elevate Nemours Children’s voice and vast expertise on matters requiring systems-level disruption, is thoughtfully designed to create awareness, dialogue and action among peers, thought leaders, legislators and policymakers of the many issues affecting children’s health in today’s world, beyond medical care. 

Solution

Ruckus was engaged to support the development and implementation of the podcast strategy. Through research and design, we developed the name and brand as well as provided input on the tone, content and cadence. We leveraged insights to develop a robust website platform and established the podcast hosting, voicemail, email components and YouTube channel. In addition to developing the launch plan, creative and digital assets, we collaborated to create an original theme song and have worked to help produce live events. We work weekly on editorial planning, guest outreach, ongoing episode promotion including internal communications and social media. We have planned and implemented multiple paid advertising campaigns which have resulted in the podcast charting on Apple as high as #8 in the Health & Wellness categories and most recently garnering more than 150,000 digital impressions resulting in 23,000 video episode views (YouTube) and nearly 13,000 audio episode downloads. Since launching in May 2023, the Well Beyond Medicine podcast has launched 147 original episodes, resulting in 717,000+ downloads across more than 7,000 cities in the U.S., added more than 40,000 subscribers on Apple Podcasts and added 7,000+ newsletter subscribers.
